Brandon and Voncel, thanks so much for all you did for us last elk season. My father n'law and I couldn't have asked for a better hunting experience than what you guys provided for us. My father n'law, Jr. Young, is a disabled coalminer and has never even killed a deer before. I've got him interested in hunting some over the last few years and I entered him in the elk drawing last year and "oh lucky" got drawed for a bull tag. People think killing an elk is so easy, well i wish everyone could try it once. They would have a whole new perpective about elk hunting. Shady Creek Outfitters is a topnotch guide service that has access to an abundance of elk, something that a lot of other guide services doesn't have. We hunted two days and finally got on a great herd of cows with three shooter bulls. Voncel got Jr to within about 300 yards of the herd and made sure he got set up on the lead bull. After a couple of shots from my 300 Weatherby Magnum the big 320 class 6x6 was on the ground. Then the real work began! Voncel and Brandon have all the equipment you would ever need to get a 700lb. elk out of the woods for you. This was a hunt of a lifetime, not only for my father n'law but for myself also. We will never forget this hunt and will always be indebted to Shady Creek Outfitters for their hospitality and all their hardwork. Thanks for everything, Heath Vance.

As you know I have been on several elk hunts out west... I have also hunted in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand...The KY elk hunt is without question one the best hunting experiences that I have ever had. The elk herd is unbelievable and Kentucky can be proud of the elk restoration program. Kentucky can also be proud of the mining industry and the habitat restoration without which nonw of this would have been possible. And most of all, Kentucky can be proud of its people. Everywhere I went the people were very friendly and helpful."
